FAQ

Is #lindychat public? Can everyone see my tweets?

Yes, that’s part of the fun! Twitter is a huge community. By having public conversations, we attract a more diverse crowd of lindy hoppers, not just the “cool people.” Public conversations also ensure that people think before they tweet, leading to higher quality discussion.

Okay, it’s time for #lindychat and I’m on Twitter. Now what do I do?

Type “#lindychat” in the search box and press enter. Twitter will return a regularly updated stream of the most recent #lindychat tweets. Make sure it’s showing all tweets, not just the top tweets.

A better way to keep up with #lindychat is to go to tweetchat.com/room/lindychat and sign in with your Twitter handle. You’ll be able to both tweet and keep up with the chat on the same page. You can also use various Twitter clients.

Once the #lindychat host gets the discussion rolling, don’t forget to introduce yourself!

How come no one is responding to my tweets?

First check that you’re including “#lindychat” in every tweet. That ensures your tweets show up in everyone’s #lindychat stream. Next make sure you’re tweeting on topic and following the other Rules of #lindychat.

If none of these solve the problem, it could be that there are too many tweets, or yours didn’t catch anyone’s attention. Thoughtful, well-written tweets will be noticed, even if no one has an immediate response.

Is okay to just lurk and watch #lindychat?

Of course! We couldn’t stop you if we tried. :-) Start participating whenever you get the hang of it.

I found the #lindychat discussion boring.

Please suggest a better topic. It’d be a stretch to expect all lindy hoppers on Twitter to equally enjoy discussing the same topics. We need your help to come up with fun things to talk about.
